Box Score NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - Playing in their final regular season match, the seniors of the Manchester University men's tennis team –Austin Arnold, Ryan Nastav, and Reece Romer – were all honored on Saturday afternoon prior to the start of their match against the Transylvania University Pioneers. 

The Spartans fell 9-0 to the Pioneers.

In doubles play, the no. 1 pair of Austin Arnold (Coatesville, Ind., South Putnam) and Reece Romer (LaGrange, Ind., Lakeland) fell 8-1. The no. 2 pair of Brennan Beachy (Goshen, Ind., Westview) and Braydon Hoggatt (Union City, Ind., Union City) fell to their opponents by the same score. At no. 3 doubles, Aiden Richardson (Knightstown, Knightstown) and Omar Lemus (Portage, Ind., Portage) were defeated 8-2.

In singles action, Arnold fell 6-0, 6-2 at the no. 1 position. Romer fell 6-0, 6-0 to Eli Skaggs at no. 2 singles. At no. 3 singles, Beachy was defeated with a score of 6-0, 6-1. Hoggatt fell 6-1, 6-0 at no. 4 singles. Next, at no. 5 singles, Lemus fell to the Pioneers 6-2, 6-1. Completing the lineup at no. 6 singles, Nastav fell 6-0, 6-0.

The Spartans finished the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 2-15, and an HCAC record of 1-5. Manchester will look ahead to the HCAC Tournament, which is scheduled to begin next week. Times and opponents will be announced by the league office when they are confirmed.
