FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The St. Francis University Cougars defeated the Manchester Spartans by a final score of 5-0 on Tuesday, September 19.
Courtney Tobin netted a hat trick for the Cougars, scoring in the 6th, 16th, and 68th minutes of Tuesday's contest. Tobin would also assist Haley Roberson on the Cougars' third goal of the night in the 27th minute. Holly Thomas would also net a goal en route to a 5-0 victory for St. Francis.
As a team, the Spartans took five shots on Tuesday night.
Grace Papazoglou (Commack, NY., Commack) led with three shots while
Elaina Halferty (Columbia City, Ind., Eagle Tech Academy) added one shot on goal.
Madilyn VanDerWeele (Tippecanoe, Ind., Argos) had a career high 15 saves in goal for the Black and Gold.
Up next, Manchester women's soccer will travel to Defiance College to take on the Yellow Jackets in HCAC play on Wednesday, September 27. Match time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Defiance, Ohio.
