LIMA, Ohio - The Manchester women's swimming and diving team finished the 2023-24 regular season with a 7-5 dual meet record after defeating both Hanover College and Bluffton University during the
Bluffton Tri-Meet on Saturday, January 27. This marks the program's first winning season since Manchester started competing in NCAA Division III during the 2015-16 academic year.
The Spartans defeated the Panthers by a final score of 117-30 and the Beavers by a team score of 105-46. Manchester brought home seven event wins on Saturday, highlighted by two team members with two individual wins each.
Alix Oden (Markle, Ind., Norwell) took first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle event with a time of 12:37.15. The junior also took first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:04.75.
Eamin Lynch (South Bend, Ind., John Adams) finished the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:13.28, good enough for first place overall. She also took first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.64.
Rachel Fedor (Wingate, Ind., North Montgomery) brought home a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:50.56.
Stephanie Roman (Beaver Falls, Pa., Blackhawk) competed in the 100-yard freestyle, touching the wall in a time of 58.36 for first place.
First-year
Taelynn Benish (Logansport, Ind., Logansport) took first in the 100-yard backstroke. She finished the event in a time of 1:19.75.
Up next, Manchester swimming and diving will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Swimming and Diving Championships. The four-day event is slated to begin on Wednesday, February 14 at the Vigo County Aquatic Center.
