TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Manchester University swimming and diving teams wrapped up the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, February 17 at the Vigo County Aquatics Center.
Both teams brought home a fifth-place finish. On the men's side, the Spartans finished the four-day championship meet with 292 team points, while the women recorded 218 team points.
The women's 400-yard freestyle relay team consisting of
Eamin Lynch (South Bend, Ind., John Adams),
Alix Oden (Markle, Ind., Norwell),
Ashlynn Malloy (Mooresville, Ind., Mooresville), and
Stephanie Roman (Beaver Falls, Pa., Blackhawk) finished the event in a time of 3:53.68, good enough for a fifth-place finish on Saturday and new Manchester school record.
Lynch also took fifth in the women's 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:19.91.
The men's 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Colten Schulte (Huntington, Ind., Huntington North),
Logan Davis (Elkhart, Ind., Elkhart),
Parker York (Roann, Ind., Manchester), and
Hung Tran (Franklin Township, Ind., Franklin Central) took home a fourth-place and broke the school record after finishing with a time of 3:13.64.
Davis broke the school record and took fifth place in the men's 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall in a time of 1:58.07.
