Alliance, OH. - The Manchester Women's Basketball team traveled to Mount Union to participate in the "Teammates for Life" Tip=Off this past weekend.
The Spartans would go 1-1 on the weekend after falling to Mount Union in the championship game. Junior
Abigail Rosenkrans (Pendleton, Ind., Pendleton Heights) was named to the All-Tournament team for her efforts this past weekend averaging 17.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in the two games.Â
Manchester 67, Kalamazoo 59
The Spartans opened up their season with a victory over Kalamazoo College. The black and Gold offense was led by Junior
Abigail Rosenkrans who finished with 22 points and four rebounds,
Hailee Kline (Huntington, Ind., Blackhawk Christian) and
Kayla Gibbs (Fort Wayne, Ind,, Carroll) both finished with 12 and
Kinsey Atkins (Warsaw, Ind., Triton) finished with a team high four assists. Sam Reddinger locked down the paint with seven rebounds as the Spartans would win 67-59.
Manchester 50, Mount Union 75
The Spartans took on the Purple Raiders in the Championship game but would fall 75-50. The Spartans offense was led by
Kinsey Atkins who finished with 13 points and
Abigail Rosenkrans who finished with 12 points and eight rebounds.
Macy Sexton (Vincennes, Ind., Lincoln) had the lone block of the game.
The Spartans next match up comes November 23 at home as they host Adrian College at 1 PM.Â
