North Manchester, Ind. - The Manchester University Men's Basketball team hosted Kalamazoo College this past Saturday in Stauffer-Wolfe Arena.
The Spartans dominance over the MIAA continues as they would win 90-85.

The Spartans would shoot out to a quick 5-0 lead and would hold a lead for the entire first half, going into halftime up three points. In the second half. the Hornets came out hot and were finding baskets from all over the court, taking over the lead by as much as 12 points with 10 minutes remaining in the game. The Spartans rallied and would score 32 points in the final 10 minutes while taking the lead with three minutes to go and never giving it up. The Spartans would win the game by five. Manchester was led by the trio of
Zach Sawyer (Columbus, Ohio, Bishop Watterson),
Logan Willoughby (Greenwood, Ind., Whiteland Community), and
Bryant Smith (West Lafayette, Ind., Harrison) who combined for 66 of the Spartans 90.
Sawyer led the team in rebounds (12) and assists (4) while also becoming the 34th Spartan to achieve 1,000 career points, bringing his current total to 1,010.Â
This was the Spartans first win over Kalamazoo since 2009-10 as well as their best start (4-1) to open up the year since 2009-10. Manchester will travel to Wheaton College on November 30 for their next match up.
