Terre Haute, Ind. - The Manchester Football team traveled to Rose-Hulman to compete in their week 8 HCAC match up.
The Engineers held off the Spartans as Manchester would be defeated 70-7.
Manchester 7, Rose-Hulman 70
Rose Hulman got things started early going up 14-0 in the first quarter but that did not stop the Spartans as in the beginning of the 2nd quarter, Quarterback
Dante Chaney (Arlington, Tx., Mansfield Legacy) connected with Wide Receiver
Levarian Campbell (Clewiston, FL) to complete a 97 yard touchdown pass. This touchdown marks the longest play from scrimmage in Manchester history, the longest play from scrimmage in the HCAC in 2024, and the 3rd longest play from scrimmage in HCAC all-time. The Spartans offense would be stalled following that play but Chaney would finish with 202 yards on 11 completions. On defense,
Javion Davis (Marion, Ind., Marion) ticked all of the boxes, as the Senior defensive back tallied eight total tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack for a 17 yard loss, one forced fumble that he recovered himself, and one interception on the day.
The Spartans will look forward to the next game as they honor their seniors on Senior Day, November 9, against Mount St. Joseph University.Â
