North Manchester, Ind. - The Manchester University Women's Basketball team hosted Transylvania University in a Wednesday HCAC match up.
Manchester University played host to a double-header as well as the Manchester Intermediate school who came to support with over 300 students in the stands cheering on the women's basketball team who upset the Pioneers 60-51. This marks the Pioneers first HCAC loss since 2019 and the Spartans first victory over Transylvania since 2017.Â

The Pioneers got out to a hot start going up early 13-4, however this did not crush the Spartans as they would make the come back and go into the half leading by five. In the second half, Manchester dominated, not losing the lead and finishing with a 9 point win.
Abigail Rosenkrans (Pendleton, Ind., Pendleton Heights) led the way for the Spartans with a career night, having 29 points and adding 12 rebounds for the double-double, she also added three steals to help out defensively.Â
The Spartans pick up their second HCAC win of the year and will look to keep it going in January as their next HCAC match up is at Mount St Joseph on January 4.
