North Manchester, ind. - The Manchester University Women's Basketball team competed in three games over winter break.
The Spartans traveled to Milwuakee, Chicago, and Cincinnati and would win 2/3 games they competed in. Over break,
Abigail Rosenkrans (Pendleton, Ind., Pendleton Heights) was named HCAC Athlete of the Week and the Spartans improved their record to 5-6.
Manchester 75, Mount Mary 49
The Spartans dominated Mount Mary in a non-HCAC match up on December 28. Manchester's leading scorer was
Abigail Rosenkrans who dropped 20 points while also grabbing three rebounds and three steals.
Maddi Smith (Kewanna, Ind., Caston) finished the game going 4-4 from the field while also having a team high seven rebounds.
Madilyn VanDerWeele (Tippecanoe, Ind., Argos)Â was suffocating Mount Mary on defense where she finished with four steals along with her six rebounds.Â
Manchester 55, CUC 38
Following the win over Mount Mary, Manchester traveled to Chicago to take on Concordia University. The Spartans dominance continued as they would win 55-38.
Abigail Rosenkrans finished 14 points and nine rebounds along with her four steals, while
Hailee Kline (Huntington, Ind., Blackhawk Christian) knocked down two 3 pointers to go along with her 12 points and three steals. The Spartans combined for 48 rebounds.
Manchester 60, MSJ 65
For their final match up of the break, Manchester traveled to Ohio to take on MSJ. The Spartans three game win streak came to end as they fell 60-65. Four Spartans ended the game in double digit figures including
Kinsey Atkins (Warsaw, Ind., Triton) who knocked down 11 points and shot 60% from beyond the arc. She also added three steals and three rebounds.
The Spartans return home on January 8 where they will host Franklin College at 7 PM.
