NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester University men's wrestling team defeated the Mount St. Joseph Lions as part of the annual HCAC Duals on Thursday, February 7. The Spartans defeated the Lions by a final score of 31-18.
First-year
Nasir Christion (Merrillville, Ind., Merrillville) started off Manchester's campaign with a win by fall at 125-pounds. After a couple of forfeits from both teams, the Spartans were victorious in five of the next seven matches of the dual, including some close wins by decision from
James Bettcher (Lakeville, Ind., LaVille) and
Ethan Skinner (Kendallville, Ind., Central Noble).

Manchester also accepted a forfeit from Defiance College. The dual match was originally scheduled for Thursday night as the third participating school in the HCAC Duals. The forfeit scores out as a 60-0 win for the Spartans.
Up next, the Spartans will head to Angola, Ind. for the Mid-State Invitational hosted by
Trine University on February 17. The tournament is scheduled to start at 9:00 am.
