Terre Haute, Ind – The Manchester University Men's and Women's Indoor track and field teams opened up the 2025 Indoor season at the Friday Night Spikes hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Friday, January 17.
The Spartans had 5 athletes place in the Manchester all time top 10 in their first outing. The Spartans also took home six first place finishes.
Coco Truelove (Albion, Ind., Central Noble) was a sensation in her first ever collegiate meet, she puts herself at #2 all time in the 60-meter dash running an 8.22 in the Preliminary round. Coco finished 4th in the finals of the 60m. The first year is looking very promising early in the season.
Chris Rene (Logansport, Ind., Logansport) had a great performance in the opener as he ran a personal best of 8.98 in the preliminary round of 60-meter hurdles moving him to 3rd all time in Manchester history. Chris finished 3rd in the finals with a time of 8.91. Chris also finished 2nd in the triple jump with a mark of 12.30m.
Gentry Oliver (Lafayette, Ind., McCutcheon) has now moved to 4th all time in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.05, in which he tied for 1st place in the finals.
Jay'ana Blakely (Westville, Ind., Marquette Catholic), making her indoor debut as a junior, makes another top 10 mark for the Spartans in the preliminary round of the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.34 moving her to 6th all time in history. Jay'ana went on to finish 5th in the finals.
The Spartan sprinters weren't the only individuals to break the top 10 in this meet. Freshman distance runner Ava Egolf (North Manchester, Ind., Manchester) makes her mark in history in the 800 meter with a time of 2:24 and this moves her to 6th all time.
