Spartans Basketball Travels to Kentucky for Berea Double Header

Berea, KY. - The Manchester University Men's and Women's Basketball teams traveled to Berea College this past Saturday to compete in another Kentucky HCAC Double Header.

Both Spartans teams fell short in their high scoring games and dropping the Men to 1-10 in HCAC play and Women to 4-6 in HCAC play.

MUWBB 55, Berea 85

The Spartans competed against a tough Berea team for the second time this year, following an Overtime win in their last match up, Berea came out firing putting up 30 points in the first quarter and keeping the foot on the gas the whole way. Spartan First Year Hannah Holmes (Largo, Ind,, Northfield) led the way in Spartans scoring posting a career high 20 points, while other First Year Sam Redinger (Argos, Ind., Argos) was knocking down threes. Redinger finished with 12 points and went 4-7 from beyond the arc.

The Spartans next match up will be an away contest on January 29 at Bluffton University.

MUMBB 81, Berea 85

In a high scoring match up with Berea, the Spartans fell just short of the victory, losing by four. Ty Lynas (Crawfordsville, Ind., Crawfordsville) recorded a career high 17 rebounds while also providing support on the offense with 14 points and 6 assists. First Year Max Robertson (Pittsboro, Ind., Tri-West) recorded a career high in points with 15 as the Freshman went 3-5 from beyond the arc and also recorded two steals.

The Spartans next match up will be at home against Bluffton University on January 29.
