The Spartans outshot the Grizzlies 15–8 and earned a 7–1 edge in corners, yet Franklin converted its few chances — scoring in the 22nd and 82nd minutes. Edwin Rodriguez nearly equalized with a crossbar strike early in the second half, while Christian Munos, Grant Gerber, and Admasu Mitchell each forced saves.

Goalkeeper Will Martin made one stop, and Manchester's defense allowed just three shots on goal. Despite the result, the Spartans (3–6–4, 2–2–1 HCAC) showed promise in possession and attacking flow as they look ahead to their next league test.
