Manchester Falls to Franklin

Franklin, Ind. - Franklin College pulled away from Manchester on Saturday afternoon, earning a 48–21 victory at Faught Stadium. The Spartans showed offensive progress through the air but couldn't keep pace with Franklin's explosive passing attack in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup.

Manchester finished with 301 total yards of offense, most of which came from the passing game. Quarterback Kaleb Hall completed 20 of 44 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns, finding three different receivers in the end zone. Levarian Campbell opened the scoring for Manchester with a 28-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter to tie the game at 7–7. Ethan Skinner added an 8-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter, and Zalin Ingram hauled in a 13-yard score early in the fourth to close out the Spartans' offense. Ingram led the receiving corps with 74 yards on five catches, while Skinner added 72 yards on five receptions, and Campbell recorded 28 yards and a touchdown. The Spartans struggled on the ground, gaining just 33 yards on 22 rushing attempts, with James Lewis leading the way at 27 yards and a long run of 23.

On defense, Manchester faced a steady Franklin offense that amassed 574 total yards. Shane Hagen led the Spartans with 10 tackles, while Mason Daring and Cameron Puryear each added eight stops. Puryear also made an interception, returning it 16 yards, and Ziare Sullivan recorded a sack among his six tackles. Special teams saw steady production, as Grant Ridgway converted all three extra-point attempts and handled kickoffs, and Angel Estrada averaged nearly 37 yards per punt, including two pinned inside the 20. Lewis also provided a 44-yard kickoff return to spark field position.

Manchester, now 0–6 overall and 0–2 in HCAC play, will aim to build on its offensive rhythm and defensive takeaways as they continue conference competition next week.
