North Manchester, Ind. - Manchester fell 2–0 to Mount St. Joseph on Saturday afternoon at Good Field.
The visiting Lions capitalized on their opportunities, scoring once in each half to pull away.
Manchester had difficulty breaking through offensively, managing four total shots with one on goal, coming from
Edwin Rodriguez in the first half. Despite stretches of even play in the midfield and three corner kicks, the Spartans couldn't find the back of the net.
Goalkeeper
Will Martin made two first-half saves before giving way to
Peter Myers midway through the second period. Defensively, Marcel Cuahuizo Gutierrez and
Nick Merrion anchored the back line with full-match efforts, while
Cole Spagna and
Aiden Bryant both received yellow cards late in the contest as the Spartans tried to hold off further Mt. St. Joseph pressure.
With the loss, Manchester moves to 3–9–4 overall and 2–5–1 in HCAC play.
