Spartans Down Polar Bears

North Manchester, Ind. - Manchester earned a 68–55 victory over Ohio Northern in a matchup defined by strong interior play, aggressive defense, and consistent free-throw shooting. The Spartans built an early cushion with a 22-point first quarter, capitalizing on turnovers and fast-break opportunities to take control from the opening minutes.

Both teams traded scoring bursts in the second period, but Manchester maintained its edge by attacking the paint and generating second-chance opportunities. The Spartans finished with 26 points inside and 11 offensive rebounds, using their size and physicality to stay in front heading into halftime.

Ohio Northern attempted to chip away early in the third quarter. However, Manchester responded with timely shooting and defensive pressure, pushing the lead back to double digits. Free throws played a major role—Manchester went 26-of-34 at the line, giving the Spartans valuable scoring stability as ONU battled foul trouble throughout the night.

Abigail Rosenkrans paced Manchester with an efficient 18-point, 10-rebound double-double, while Maddi Smith added 13 points and seven boards. Clair Klinger contributed three made threes to help stretch the defense. ONU saw balanced contributions from its rotation, but 20 turnovers ultimately limited their ability to sustain a comeback.

Manchester's bench also played a meaningful role, combining for 22 points and helping maintain the team's tempo and defensive energy. In the final minutes, disciplined half-court execution and control on the glass allowed the Spartans to close out the win comfortably.

Overall, the matchup featured steady pace, physical interior play, and stretches of strong defense on both sides, but Manchester's efficiency around the rim, turnover pressure, and free-throw advantage proved decisive in the 68–55 outcome.
