Terre Haute, Ind. - Manchester put together one of its better offensive showings of the season but fell 95–72 at Rose-Hulman in its conference opener.
The Spartans scored 72 points on 46 percent shooting and produced a strong second half with 42 points, yet they were unable to keep pace with Rose-Hulman's consistent scoring and transition pressure.
Ty Lynas led Manchester with a standout 29-point performance, shooting 11-of-18 from the floor and adding six rebounds and three assists.
Clay McCorkle followed with 12 points, while
Chris Hardy contributed seven points and five rebounds.
Ladarius Wallace,
Logan Brace, and
Talan Boehler combined for meaningful scoring and energy, with Boehler knocking down two threes off the bench. Manchester's reserves added 16 points overall.
The Spartans showed offensive improvement, particularly after halftime, where they attacked the lane more effectively and hit timely perimeter shots. However, Rose-Hulman's interior scoring and transition efficiency proved difficult to slow, as the Engineers generated 58 points in the paint and 22 fast-break points.
Despite the result, Manchester displayed positive strides offensively, especially in ball movement, shot quality, and overall scoring balance.
