Richmond, Ind. - Manchester delivered one of its most complete performances of the season on Saturday afternoon, knocking off Earlham 83–72 on the road at Druley Performance Gym.
The victory also marked the first career win for first-year head coach Ryan Nowicki at the helm of the Spartans. Manchester led wire-to-wire, jumping out to a commanding 42–29 halftime advantage and matching Earlham point-for-point in the second half to secure its first HCAC win of the year.
The Spartans' backcourt set the tone offensively.
Ty Lynas poured in a game-high 23 points while stuffing the stat sheet with 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals.
Max Robertson added 19 points on 4-of-5 shooting from three-point range and dished out four assists in a full 40-minute effort.
Clay McCorkle also had a strong all-around night, finishing with 18 points, four rebounds, and four steals as Manchester consistently attacked off turnovers.
Manchester's ball pressure was a major difference early, forcing Earlham into turnovers that led to quick baskets.
Ladarius Wallace provided a spark with eight points, hit a key three late in the first half, and helped push the Spartans' lead to double figures.
Logan Brace added six points and eight rebounds, consistently controlling the glass and creating second-chance opportunities.
The Spartans shot an efficient 29-of-59 (49.2%) from the field and knocked down 11 three-pointers, while also winning the turnover battle with 10 steals and just 11 giveaways. Manchester also dominated in transition, scoring 13 fast-break points to keep momentum firmly on its side.
Earlham attempted a second-half rally, trimming the margin at times, but Manchester answered every run with timely shooting and steady free-throw shooting down the stretch (14-of-17 at the line). The Spartans closed out the final minutes with poise to seal the 83–72 victory.
With the win, Manchester improved to 1–7 overall and 1–1 in HCAC play, gaining momentum while celebrating a milestone night for Coach Nowicki and the team.
