North Manchester, Ind. - The Manchester University Softball team finished out their regular season taking on Berea College at home this past Saturday.

Manchester honored their seniors and clinched a spot in the HCAC tournament after sweeping Berea two games to none.

Game One Manchester 20, Berea 0

This game was all Manchester from the start, Kaitlyn Carr (Valparaiso, Ind., Chesterton) went five scoreless innings on only 4 hits and struck out three batters to move to 9-0 on the year. The Spartans combined for 18 hits including Erin Singleton (Brownstown, Ind., Brownstown Central) who finished 3-3 with four RBIs as the Spartans battered Berea 20-0. 

Game Two Manchester 7, Berea 1 

Brionna Egold (Greencastle, Ind., South Putnam) took the circle in her last regular season game as a Spartan and dominated, finishing with seven strikeouts, a 0.00 ERA, and a win. The Spartans offense stayed hot with nine hits as Alee Eaker (Lowell, Ind., Lowell) went 1-2 with two RBIs as the Spartans held on to win 7-1.

With the sweep, Manchester clinched a spot in the HCAC Tournament as the #5 seed where they will start off by facing Franklin College at 10 AM on Thursday May 8 in Lexington, KY.
