Olivet, MI - Manchester came up just short in a 1–0 loss at Olivet on Tuesday evening. The Spartans battled hard defensively, with goalkeeper Reagan Claus turning in a standout performance by recording 12 saves to keep her team within reach.
Olivet scored the game's lone goal late in the first half and carried that advantage the rest of the way. Manchester responded with a stronger second half, creating more scoring chances and testing the Olivet defense. Lily DeTray and Delaney Kelly led the attack with multiple shots on goal, but the Spartans couldn't break through for an equalizer.
Despite being outshot, Manchester showed growth as the match wore on, especially in their ability to generate opportunities after halftime. The defensive unit played with grit, and the team's effort kept the game competitive until the final whistle.
With the result, Manchester moves to 0–4–0 on the season as they welcome Illinois College to Good Field this Saturday.
