Bluffton, OH - Manchester ran into a hot shooting Bluffton squad on Wednesday night as the Spartans fell 94-70 at Sommer Center in HCAC play
Bluffton jumped in front early and carried a 22-14 lead after one quarter before stretching the margin to 45-30 at halftime. Manchester's best push came out of the break, matching Bluffton 23-23 in the third to stay within striking distance, but the Beavers' efficiency and depth showed up in the fourth as they closed on a 26-17 period to pull away. The Spartans won the battle on the glass (41-41) and created extra chances with 19 offensive rebounds, but struggled to convert consistently (26-for-78) while Bluffton shot 36-for-66 and drained 11 threes.
Abi Rosenkrans led Manchester with 16 points and five assists, while Hannah Holmes added 14 points in 19 minutes on 6-of-12 shooting. Kinsey Atkins chipped in 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds, and Kendal Rider filled the box score with seven points, six assists and three steals. Manchester also generated pressure defensively with 12 steals and 16 assists
