Carmel, Ind. - The HCAC announced Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for week two of the season, and Manchester's Gavin Byerly brought home Distance Athlete of the Week.

Byerly had two big PRs over the weekend in the 3000m steeplechase, where he ran 9:15.73, and the 800m, clocking in at 1:53.85. Both times are conference leading marks. His steeplechase time is currently first in the Great Lakes Region and ninth in the nation. Meanwhile, his 800m time is fourth in the Great Lakes Region and 20th nationally. His steeplechase time is also second in Manchester history and third all-time in the HCAC. His 800 ranks third in MU history and fifth in HCAC history.
