La Crosse, WI - Manchester Track & Field turned in a strong showing on the national stage as Kenny Redd and Gavin Byerly each earned All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Redd led the way for the Spartans on Thursday in the men's long jump, delivering a top-eight finish to secure All-America status. The senior soared to a mark of 7.24 meters, placing sixth overall in a highly competitive field. His performance marked one of the top highlights of the meet for Manchester, as he capped his season among the nation's elite in the event.
Also competing Thursday, Byerly took to the track for the opening round of the men's 1,500-meter run. Racing in the second heat, he executed a strong tactical race to finish sixth and earn one of the qualifying spots into Saturday's championship final.
Returning to the track on Saturday, Byerly closed out the weekend with another All-American effort. He placed eighth in the 1,500m final, securing a podium finish and adding a second All-America honor for Manchester over the three-day championship meet.
With Redd's sixth-place finish in the long jump and Byerly's eighth-place showing in the 1,500 meters, Manchester concluded the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships with two All-Americans, highlighting a successful trip to La Crosse.
