Box Score The Spartans, winning their second successive match, parlayed a 40-2 shots margin to eight goals in an 8-1 win over Andrews University. MU received multiple-goal efforts from freshman forward Brandy Crouse (Cleves, Ohio) and sophomore forward Katelyn Barta (Griffith, Ind.) to highlight the roll.
Manchester jumped out to a 3-0 lead 30:27 in. Andrews (0-7) did manage to get a score back in the 39th minute on a penalty kick to make it 3-1 at the half. The second half was all Black and Gold behind a 23-0 shots advantage with five of the attempts finding the back of the Cardinals' net.
Crouse, junior midfielder Laura Jenkins (Sellersburg, Ind.) and sophomore midfielder Sofie Tzortzinis (Ann Arbor, Mich.) topped the shots column. Crouse and Jenkins finished with six each and Tzortzinis added five.
Manchester returns to action Saturday, Sept. 22. The Spartans (3-3-2) face North Coast Athletic Conference foe Oberlin at Shults Field on Oberlin College's campus at 2 p.m.
NOTES: MU's eight goals were the most in a match for the Black and Gold since a 9-0 win over Franklin in 2006.
