Box Score TERRE HAUTE, IND. – Sophomore guard Faith-Alexis Graham (Indianapolis, Ind.) tallied seven points and grabbed five rebounds, both among Manchester University's team highs against Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Rose-Hulman Saturday, Feb. 11.
Graham's sixth game of gathering five boards-or-more for the Spartans wasn't enough to move Coach Josh Dzurick's squad back to the .500 level in league play. Giving the loop leader all it could throughout the opening 10 minutes and then trailing by just one early in the second period, the Black and Gold (8-15 overall, 7-9 HCAC) were thwarted by a 14-2 stretch by the Fightin' Engineers from the 9:38 to 2:29 marks of the second frame. The hosts continued to build the advantage from that point in route to a 65-34 win.
Freshman guard/forward Hannah Newby (Danville, Ind.) joined Graham at the front of the scoring column, as she came off the bench to register seven points. Senior guard Jenifer Lee (Rockville, Ind.) was next in line scoring-wise with five points, part of a stat line that included four rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot.
Manchester University, sitting seventh on the loop standings, moves into a critical final week of the regular season Wednesday, Feb. 15. They face off against Defiance College, the team they're chasing for the sixth and final postseason tournament slot, at Stauffer-Wolfe Arena. Tip-off time is 6 p.m.
