Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Manchester University men's basketball team suffered an 85-69 setback at Hanover College on Saturday, February 6.
Manchester led 63-62 at the 8:55 mark of the second half, however, the host Panthers concluded the game on a 26-7 run to secure Saturday's victory.
Half of Manchester's 24 made field goals came from three-point territory. Senior guard Matt Westman (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City) made five three-pointers and led the Black & Gold with 19 points. Jackson Jannsen (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) finished with 17 points on 6-9 shooting from the field and 3-6 shooting from downtown.
Freshman Mitch Mendenhall (New Haven, Ind./Woodlan) added 13 points and a game-high seven rebounds in 17 minutes.
As a team, Hanover shot 56.5% (35-62) from the floor. The Panthers assisted on 20 of its 35 made field goals. Josiah Ricketts led four Panthers in double figures with 16 points.
Manchester (2-6) is scheduled to host Rose-Hulman on Friday, February 12.
The Panthers (4-3) are scheduled to play Transylvania on Thursday, February 11.
