Manchester to Host Rose-Hulman for 2023 HCAC Championship Game

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. - The Manchester University men's soccer team will host the Fightin' Engineers of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the 2023 Heartland College Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's Soccer Championship game on Saturday, November 4. The Championship game of the men's tournament will be held at Spartan Stadium on the campus of Manchester University.

DIRECTIONS:
  • Visitors to Manchester University can use 1305 N. East Street, North Manchester, IN 46962 to generate GPS navigation to drive to Spartan Stadium parking. 
  • Spartan Stadium (landmark 1) is located behind the PERC (landmark 30) on the Manchester University campus map.

GAME NOTES: 
  • The Spartans are seeking their first HCAC Tournament title in program history. This is Manchester's first HCAC Championship game appearance since the 2007 season. The Spartans enter Saturday's game with an overall record of 10-0-8 and HCAC Regular Season champions.
  • The Fightin' Engineers are seeking their sixth HCAC Tournament title in the last 10 years. Rose-Hulman won last year's HCAC Tournament Championship against Hanover College in a penalty kick shootout. The Fightin' Engineers enter the HCAC title game with an overall record of 11-5-3.
  • Earlier this season, the Spartans shutout Rose-Hulman by a final score of 1-0 at Spartan Stadium, snapping a 36 match unbeaten streak in HCAC regular season play for the Fightin' Engineers. Rose-Hulman held a 10-4 advantage in shots taken, but the Spartans were able to score the lone goal of the match off a corner kick in the 52nd minute of action by Noah Black to Kole Williams to score the first goal of his collegiate career.
  • As a team, the Spartans lead the conference with 42 goals this season and have allowed only 14 goals this season.
  • Harley Kruschwitz (18) and Cory Mitchell (13) lead the team and conference in goals this season. The duo also leads the conference in shots, shots on goal, and points.
  • Cory Mitchell and Noah Black are ranked 5th in the HCAC in assists with five.
  • Aaron Ketchmark leads the HCAC in shutouts (9) and goals against average with 0.768.
  • The Fightin' Engineers are led by Connor Patton with eight goals.
  • Caleb Urban leads Rose-Hulman and the HCAC with nine assists this season. 
  • John Bieerstedit is tied for first in the conference with nine clean sheets and ranks second in goals against average at 0.813.
  • The winner of Saturday night's match will earn their spot in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
