Box Score 2 NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. — Manchester Women's Soccer lost to Bluffton 3-0 on Wednesday at Good Field. Manchester put four of its five shots on goal but faced 22 shots from Bluffton, with eight saves in the loss.
Bluffton generated repeated stretches of chances, and Manchester had to defend through several extended sequences to keep the match from widening further. After Bluffton held a 2-0 advantage, Manchester came through a late first-half sequence that included one shot and four corner kicks without conceding. Manchester faced another second-half stretch at the same score with five shots and two corners from Bluffton, then later kept Bluffton off the board through four more attacking actions after the margin had reached 3-0.
Manchester also put together a second-half attacking stretch of its own with three shots, but Bluffton finished with a 22-5 advantage in total shots and an 11-4 edge in shots on goal.
Reagan Claus handled a busy match in goal for Manchester, making eight saves across 90 minutes.

Manchester spent much of the first half defending Bluffton pressure and went into halftime trailing 2-0 after goals in the 18th and 31st minutes. Early in the half, DeTray put Manchester's first shot on frame at 11:42, but Madison Kutscher saved it after Bluffton had already earned two corner kicks. Bluffton went ahead when Mya Vernon scored from Reece Lawler at 17:11, and Manchester answered with another DeTray shot on goal at 22:12 during a physical stretch that included four fouls between the teams. After Katie Singleton scored from Lawler at 30:06, Manchester held Bluffton without another goal through a late sequence that included four corner kicks and a Samantha Shock shot, carrying the 2-0 deficit into halftime.
Manchester conceded the second half's lone goal at 64:31, when Samantha Shock scored from Gwen Holbrook's assist to give Bluffton a 3-0 advantage. Earlier, Manchester absorbed a stretch of Bluffton pressure while down 2-0, with Claus saving shots by Joely Warner and Mya Vernon around a pair of corner kicks before the 64:31 goal. Manchester answered with a pressure spell of its own, putting
Lily DeTray's 72:15 shot on frame, sending
Analy Martinez's attempt wide at 79:28 and forcing another save on
Isabella Campbell's shot at 81:01. Claus added saves on three Bluffton shots from 73:18 through 83:18 and another at 87:30, and Manchester finished the half scoreless in a 3-0 final.
Claus recorded eight saves over 90 minutes in goal. DeTray led Manchester's attack with three shots, putting all three on goal.
Manchester moves to 0-8-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play.
BLUFFTON, Ohio — Manchester Men's Soccer defeated Bluffton 2-1 on Wednesday. Manchester held Bluffton without a goal through seven attacking actions from 79:44 to 89:02 of the second half.
Manchester generated chances before breaking through, creating two early attacking actions and later putting together a first-half stretch with three shots and a corner while the match was still scoreless. After Bluffton moved in front,
Noah Junchaya brought Manchester level in the second half off an assist from
Jack Barnes. Junchaya scored again less than five minutes later, this time from
Fola Afolayan, as Manchester took a 2-1 lead.
Bluffton pushed late with seven attacking actions, including four shots and three corner kicks, over the closing stretch, but Manchester did not concede during that sequence. Manchester finished with a 15-13 edge in shots and put seven attempts on goal to Bluffton's four. Junchaya placed all three of his shots on frame and scored twice, while
Aiden Bryant added four shots and two shots on goal. Jonathan Sanchez made three saves in goal for Manchester.
Manchester posted the larger attacking totals in a scoreless first half, taking eight shots and three corner kicks while holding Bluffton to five shots and one corner. Earlier, Barnes put a shot on frame in the fifth minute,
Edwin Rodriguez served a corner at 9:21, and Manchester added attempts from
Dustin Medina Estrada and
Quentin Taylor before Jonathan Sanchez saved Mathias Garcia's shot at 26:45. Manchester's longest stretch of pressure came from 33:06 to 37:23, when Bryant had one shot saved and another blocked,
Axel Bonilla took a corner, and Bonilla later forced another save from David Roberts. Sanchez added another save on Collin Scheid in the 40th minute, and the half ended tied 0-0.
Junchaya scored twice in less than five minutes as Manchester erased a 1-0 second-half deficit and moved in front of Bluffton. Earlier in the half, Junchaya forced a save, but Bluffton opened the scoring at 54:08 on William Clark's goal from Jacob Hoffmann. Manchester answered at 58:42 when Junchaya scored off
Jack Barnes' assist, then took a 2-1 lead at 63:26 on Junchaya's goal from Afolayan. Jonathan Sanchez saved Devin Homan's header in the 79th minute, and Manchester later created chances of its own when Afolayan hit the crossbar and Bryant put a shot on goal. Bluffton pushed late with corners and multiple attempts in the final minutes, but Manchester kept the Beavers out through the end of the half to finish a 2-1 win.
Junchaya scored twice, including the game-winning goal, and put all three of his shots on goal. Bryant led Manchester with four shots, including two on frame. Afolayan recorded an assist and added two shots. Jonathan Sanchez played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with three saves.
Manchester moves to 5-6-0 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play.
