North Manchester, Ind. - Manchester University Baseball placed two student-athletes on the 2026 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) All-Conference teams, highlighted by a First-Team selection for Max Horner.
Horner earned First-Team All-HCAC honors following a standout campaign at the plate for the Spartans. The Sophomore started all 37 games and led Manchester with a .445 batting average, compiling 69 hits, 43 RBI, and 20 doubles. Horner also added five home runs and three triples, showcasing his power and extra-base ability throughout the season. He posted a 1.221 OPS, backed by a .710 slugging percentage and a .511 on-base percentage.
Horner's consistent production anchored the Spartans' lineup, as he ranked among the conference leaders in average, hits, and extra-base hits while reaching base in more than half of his plate appearances. In addition to being named First Team All-HCAC, Horner was also recognized as the conference player of the week as well as D3baseball.com's team of the week.Â
Senior Joel Kennedy was recognized with All-HCAC Honorable Mention accolades after also starting all 37 contests for Manchester. Kennedy delivered a strong all-around season, batting .305 with 46 hits and 29 RBI. He led the team in home runs with eight while adding four doubles.
Kennedy recorded a .877 OPS, including a .490 slugging percentage and a .387 on-base percentage, providing steady run production and power in the middle of the lineup.
Manchester's pair of honorees reflects the Spartans' offensive consistency during the 2026 season, as both Horner and Kennedy played key roles in the team's success while appearing in every game.
