McFadden scored his third goal of the season, tying fellow senior midfielder/forward Dian Radev (Burgas, Bulgaria) for the team lead. His score helped the Spartans (3-10 overall, 1-2 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) avert a shutout loss to the Pioneers in a 4-1 final.

Transylvania out-shot Coach Dave Good's squad 19-6. Senior goalkeeper Grant Noakes (LaPorte, Ind.) managed seven saves, but the home side found MU's net inside the opening 10 minutes and added three more tallies during the afternoon.

Manchester returns to Spartan Field to face Defiance College of Ohio in HCAC play Wednesday, Oct. 10. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
