LEXINGTON, KY. – A pair of goals in the opening 12 minutes helped send off Transylvania University of Kentucky to a 5-0 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Manchester University Saturday, Oct. 4.

Freshman goalkeeper Jared Hallal (Indianapolis, Ind.) did his level best to keep the Spartan offense as close as possible on the scoreboard to the host Pioneers (5-4 overall, 1-0 HCAC) by blocking away six shot on goal attempts. However, the TU offense broke through early and added three more scores en route to the decision.

MU (4-6 overall, 0-1 HCAC) did get shot attempts from sophomore forward Ola Ladapo (London, England), senior defender Mark Zinser (Guilford, Ind.) and senior forward Loic Youth (Detroit, Mich.). Ladapo and Zisner's tries were on line to the home team's net but were glanced away.

The Spartans return home Tuesday, Oct. 7, hosting Defiance College of Ohio for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
