MU, Huntington play to double overtime draw

Box Score

HUNTINGTON, IND. – Forging their way through a 30-12 shots disadvantage Wednesday, Sept. 16, Manchester University produced a gritty road effort against neighboring Huntington University.

Sophomore goalkeeper Brady Forman (Hastings, Mich.) stood tall in net allowing just one Foresters attempt to elude him. He turned in 13 saves, the most in a match for a Black and Gold net minder since former standout Grant Noakes had the same number against Kenyon College of Ohio in 2010.

The Spartans' offense was centered on the play of junior forward Ola Ladapo. The London, England, native struck a squad-leading four shot attempts with one of them getting into HU's net in the 24th minute for a 1-0 lead. The home team knotted the match at 1-1 in the 63rd minute which is where it stayed until the final whistle.

Manchester University continues a home-and-away week when Eureka College of Illinois comes to the pitch at Spartan Soccer Field for a 3 p.m. kickoff Saturday, Sept. 19.
