Box Score DEFIANCE, OHIO – Manchester University was able to deflect a pair of first half scoring strikes from host Defiance College Wednesday, Oct. 19, posting two second half scores of their own in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play.
Sophomore midfielder Ben Niederhelman (Ross, Ohio) got the comeback going in the first 10 minutes of the second frame with an unassisted score. He came back, with the help of an assist from fellow sophomore midfielder Samuel Tetteh-Quarshie (Acra, Ghana), for the match leveler in the 64th minute.
Both sides had chances to net the decider over the final 25 minutes of regulation and in each overtime. However, MU goalkeeper Brady Forman (Hastings, Mich.) and the Yellow Jackets' Clay Musgrave had a combined three saves apiece in the extra sessions as part of five knockaways for Forman and six for Musgrave over the 110-minute match.
Manchester University's 2-2 tie with DC kept them just six points out of a three-way tie for third on the loop standings.
