Box Score NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Sophomore midfielder Samuel Tetteh-Quarshie (Acra, Ghana) successfully converted a penalty kick in the first half, headlining Manchester University's Senior Day 2016 match against Mt. St. Joseph University Saturday, Oct. 22.
After the visiting Lions scored in the first six minutes, the Spartans' offense picked up the pace and forced a PK after Tetteh-Quarshie was drug down in the box in front of MSJ's net. He stepped into the shot and sent it deftly into the upper left hand side for a 1-1 tie. The visitors responded quickly with a goal less than five minutes later and added another right before halftime in route to a 3-1 decision at Good Field.
MU, dropping to 7-6-2 overall and 1-5-1 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, managed eight shot attempts with Tetteh-Quarshie and junior defender/forward/midfielder Tod Oram (Crown Point, Ind.) registering two each.
The Spartans close out their regular season home schedule Wednesday, Oct. 26. Bluffton University of Ohio visits North Manchester for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
