Box Score

NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. – Sophomore midfielder Ben Niederhelman (Ross, Ohio) registered his first multiple-goal effort Sunday, Sept. 25, helping keep Manchester University's unbeaten string intact.

Niederhelman, the beneficiary of a pair of penalty kicks, made them both count, scoring one in the ninth minute and putting home the eventual game-winner in the 60th minute. Sandwiched in between those two scores was senior midfielder Ola Ladapo (London, England) burying a shot in the right side of Illinois Tech's as part of a 3-2 decision on the Good Field pitch.

MU, improving to 6-0-2, out-shot the visiting Redhawks 20-9. Niederhelman and sophomore midfielder Samuel Tetteh-Quarshie (Acra, Ghana) accounted for five attempts each. Junior goalkeeper Brady Forman (Hastings, Mich.) turned in a big afternoon, too, compiling four saves which included a couple of key ones in the final minutes.

The Black and Gold take to the road for their next two matches, going to Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio, Wednesday, Sept. 28, and beginning the 2016 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule Saturday, Oct. 1, at Hanover College.
