INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The DePauw University Tigers swept a Sunday afternoon twinbill against Manchester and completed a three-game weekend sweep.

Game 1 - DePauw 2, Manchester 1

The Tigers narrowly edged the Spartans in the first game on Sunday.

Manchester grabbed a 1-0 lead following a solo home run by Joe Gallatin (Muncie, Ind. / Muncie Central) in the top of the 2nd inning.

The Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the 4th with a solo home run of their own. DU hit a sac fly in the 6th inning.

John Magers (Noblesville, Ind. / Lapel) and Austin Kresl (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Carroll) scattered four hits over eight innings and combined to strike out five batters.

Game 2 - DePauw 9, Manchester 2

The Tigers completed the weekend sweep of Manchester with a 9-2 win in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.  DU hit a pair of two-run home runs to start the game and never trailed.

MU picked up a run in the top half of the second inning. Freshman Ryan Mueller (Cincinnati, Ohio / Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy) drove in Nick Rush (Terre Haute, Ind. / Terre Haute North).  Nick Tillman (Lawrenceburg, Ind. / East Central) drove in the other Manchester run.

Braxton Riley (Fort Wayne, Ind. / Wayne) had two hits.  

DePauw improved to 5-4 with the weekend sweep. Manchester fell to 1-7. The Spartans will be at Taylor University on Tuesday March 12. First pitch will be at 5 p.m.
