Box Score 2 NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Manchester University baseball team honored its senior class on Saturday afternoon as the Spartans hosted the Earlham College Quakers in their regular season finale.
Manchester earned a split in its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader, defeating EC in Game 1 4-2 before dropping Game 2 12-9.
Following Saturday's twin bill, Manchester honored its senior class of Max Bridgewater, Hunter Freeman, Joe Henschel, Brett Kron, Michael Pinarski, Hunter Seegers, Keegan Stevens, and Jacob Van Pelt with an on-field ceremony.

How It Happened:
* Manchester starter Austin Kresl (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) pitched into the 7th inning as the Spartans picked up a 4-2 victory in Game 1. Kresl allowed just 2 runs in 6.2 innings of work. He struck out 8 batters. Senior Keegan Stevens (Rensselaer, Ind./Rensselaer Central) came out of the Spartan bullpen and struck out 4 in 2.1 innings of relief. Stevens picked up a big strikeout with the bases loaded to retire the side in the 7th.
* The Spartans opened the scoring on Saturday with a pair of runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Zach White (Logansport, Ind./Logansport) hit a sac fly to center and Jacob Van Pelt (Parker City, Ind./Delta) had an RBI groundout.
* Manchester extended its lead to 4-0 after scoring single runs in the 4th and 5th innings.
* Game 2 saw the Quakers score a trio of runs in both the 4th, 6th innings, and 8th innings.
* Brady Perez (Rochester, Ind./Rochester) hit a pinch-hit RBI single in the 6th for MU. Jacob Van Pelt connected on a 2-run homer to left center in bottom of the 7th while Hunter Seegers (Westport, Ind./South Decatur) hit a run scoring double in the 8th. Zach White finished with 2 RBI in Game 2.
