North Manchester, Ind. - Manchester Men's Soccer Assistant Coach and Former Manchester Men's Soccer Player,
Matthew Roop, was named to the Harrison High School Athletics Hall of Fame back in January.
"Matthew was a three-sport standout, graduating from Harrison in 2016. He was also a member of the Athletic Leadership Council and National Honor Society. He earned four varsity letters in soccer, with the Raiders finishing as the state runner-up in his senior season. He was awarded the C. Eugene Cato Mental Attitude Award for the state of Indiana. He played on two regional and two conference championship teams and was an all-state selection twice. The
Journal and Courier recognized him as the Big School Player of the Year in 2015. Matthew earned three letters in basketball and was voted our Mental Attitude Award winner twice. He earned three varsity letters in baseball, helping the Raiders win a sectional championship in 2015. Matthew was Harrison's top male student-athlete from the class of 2016 and was recognized as the North Central Conference's top male athlete in 2016."
Roop went onto Manchester University where he would appear in 63 games for the Spartans, contributing one assist and being one of the teams top defenders. He was named team captain in 2019 as well as All-HCAC and Academic All- HCAC.
