Shelbyville, Ind. - Manchester Cross Country traveled to Shelbyville to compete in the Franklin Invitational.
Men's Results:
The Spartans' Men's Cross Country team snagged a second-place finish on Saturday, with three runners placing in the top ten.
Cole Davies finished ninth with a time of 16:18.4(05:14.9 Avg. Mile) and
Austin Johnson finished fourth with a time of 15:59.7(05:08.9 Avg. Mile).
Gavin Byerly took home first-place at the invitational; the Manchester Senior finished the run with a time of 15:51.9(05:06.4 Avg. Mile) securing the top score of 1.
Brenden Oden also boosted the Spartans to a sencond-place finish, completing the run with a time of 16:20.6(05:15.6 Avg. Mile) en route to a twelfth-place finish. As a team overall, Manchester posted a total time of 1:21:27(16:15 Avg. Time) and a score of 55 to finish second.
Women's Results:
The Spartans' Women's Cross Country team finished the Franklin Invitational third, with two runners finishing in the top ten.
Ayla Cashdollar finished the run fourth with a time of 19:15.0(06:11.7 Avg. Mile) and
Chesnee Miller took home first-place with a time of 18:56.4(06:05.7 Avg. Mile). The Sophomore from Akron, IN led the charge for Manchester's third-place finish, finishing the run with a score of 1.
Rylee Stephany also boosted Manchester's third-place finish with a time of 20:10.3(06:29.5 Avg. Mile) leading to a fourteenth-place individual finish and a score of 13. As a team overall, Manchester posted a total time of 1:43:21(20:40 Avg. Time) and a score of 94 for a third-place finish.
Both Men's and Women's Cross Country will be back in action September 20th as they travel to Fort Wayne, IN to compete in the Rumble in the Fort run, 10:00 AM start.
