Carmel, Ind. -  The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field teams competed in week six of the 2025-26 season. With the week wrapped-up Manchester Track & Field saw Gavin Byerly and Chris Rene bring home HCAC Athletes of the Week Honors. 

Men's Distance Athlete of the Week:
Gavin Byerly (Huntington, Ind.) Manchester University | Distance | Senior - Gavin Byerly ran a lifetime PR in the 5K at Wisconsin-Whitewater over the weekend. His time of 14:36.44 is leading the conference and ranks third all time for Manchester. The time also ranks first in the Great Lakes Region and 30th in the nation.  

Men's Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week:
Chris Rene (Logansport, Ind.) Manchester University | Sprints | Junior - Chris Rene ran 8.60 seconds in the 60m hurdles. This time was a lifetime PR and has him first in the HCAC and second in school history.
