* Ken Metzger has been an instrumental figure in Manchester Athletics for over 4 decades.
* Served on the Manchester Board of Trustees.
* Was a co-founder and was one of the central organizers for the Friends of the Manchester Golf Outing (FoMGO) - Manchester University Athletics largest annual fundraising event.
* Earned the Manchester Alumni Service Award. 
* Earned an Honorary Varsity "M" in 2000 as a friend, counselor, and supporter of the coaches and student-athletes of Manchester.
