* Competed in three sports during Manchester career - earning 9 combined varsity letters in baseball, football, and men's basketball.
* Was a two-time All-Hoosier College Conference performer on defense (1952 & 1953).
* Also earned All-HCC honors on the offensive side of the ball in 1953.
* Football team captain and team MVP in 1953.
* Men's basketball team captain in 1953.
* Led the Manchester baseball team in hitting in 1953 with a .423 batting average.Â
